NPRA INAUGURATES INFORMAL SECTOR WORKING GROUP ON PENSIONS
As part of efforts to promote and develop the pension industry in Ghana, and also to extend pension coverage to the significantly large workforce in the informal sector as required by the National Pension Act, 2008 (Act 766) as amended, the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) has inaugurated a Working Group to achieve this mandate.
TIn accordance with sections 7(q) and 197 of the National Pensions Act, 2008 (Act 766), the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) will implement a Sanctions Regime starting from 1st October, 2015. The Sanctions Regime is aimed at achieving full compliance with the National Pensions Act, 2008 (Act 766) and associated Regulations and Guidelines.
REGISTRATION OF MANDATORY 2ND TIER OCCUPATIONAL PENSION SCHEME
NPRA wishes to inform employers, workers and the general public that, SSNIT will continue to collect the mandatory 5% tier 2 contributions from employers without any registered schemes, after 31st December 2013 for a transitional period.
