Albert Kwame Nkrumah is a Chartered Accountant and strategic financial leader with over 14 years of experience in financial governance, audit, and management across the public sector, banking, pensions, and consultancy. He currently serves as Director of Finance at the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), where he drives financial strategy, compliance, and performance reporting at the highest level.

Before joining the Authority, Albert began his career as an auditor at Kwame Asante & Associates, providing advisory services, conducting risk assessments, and supporting clients in transitioning to international accounting standards.

Albert’s leadership journey at NPRA started in 2014 as Financial Accountant, where he strengthened treasury management and financial reporting processes. In 2018, he advanced to Head of Management Accounts, spearheading the design and implementation of NPRA’s budgetary control systems, significantly enhancing fiscal discipline and accountability. He has led the preparation of financial statements, overseen the annual budget process, and developed strategic financial forecasts, while implementing robust internal controls that improved governance and operational efficiency. His strategic insights have shaped multi-year forecasts, board-level reporting, and compliance frameworks aligned with IFRS and IPSAS standards.

Albert holds an MSc in Finance from Rouen Business School, France, and a BSc in Accounting from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He has complemented his expertise with international training in leadership, public sector accounting, and financial reporting, reinforcing his reputation as a trusted advisor and thought leader in financial strategy.

Through his leadership, Albert continues to drive financial excellence and innovation at NPRA, ensuring Ghana’s pension system remains sustainable, transparent, and positioned to deliver long-term value for all contributors and beneficiaries.
