Philemon Laar, Esq is a dedicated professional with over 13 years of experience across various industries. He has played leadership roles in Corporate Affairs management, Media, Project Management, Law, and Academia. Throughout his career, he has focused on human development and public welfare through strategic policymaking, a collaborative approach to leadership, and effective communication. His enduring values of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to sustainable development are the guiding principles which underpin his work ethics.
As a legal practitioner, Philemon has established a strong foundation in litigation and Corporate Law. He has provided legal counsel to a variety of corporate clients on due diligence practices, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks. He has leveraged on his expertise in corporate and commercial law to deliver practical and ethical solutions to complex legal problems to the satisfaction of his clients.
Prior to his legal career, Philemon served as the Corporate Affairs Lead at Glass Palace Co. Ltd in Accra. In this role, he managed the construction of an Aluminium and Glass factory, coordinated compliance with regulatory bodies, and helped to establish the organization’s formal structures and the recruitment of its initial workforce.
Philemon is a fellow of President Obama's Young African Leaders' Initiative (YALI) and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung’s (FES) Young Leaders Programme (YLP). These associations have helped shape Philemon’s approach to leadership and public service. He also served as President of the Students' Representative Council (SRC) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology ( KNUST ) during his student days, and consequently served as a member of the University Council. He also served as the SRC president of the Ghana School of Law. He utilized these positions to champion the interests of his constituents and the overall improvement of student welfare and institutional advancement.
Philemon's career is driven by a passion for public service and a commitment to making a positive impact. With his diverse background and collaborative approach to leadership, Philemon continues to contribute to the improvement of public service delivery for sustainable development.
Philemon has participated in several leadership and training programmes both in Ghana anad abroad including in South Africa, Ethiopia and Switzerland.
